Furio Chirico’s THE TRIP - Atlantide 2025
[CD digisleev]

Furio Chirico’s THE TRIP - Atlantide 2025
ATLANTIDE 2025 is not a sequel or a remake of the original ATLANTIDE (1972); rather, it is a modern reinterpretation of the landmark project celebrated in the original. Hence the title "ATLANTIDE 2025."

"What I expressed with Joe and Wegg in ATLANTIDE: The world hasn't changed since 1972. In fact, it's only gotten worse. We've just gotten angrier." - Furio Chirico

The Trip, a rock band featuring Ritchie Blackmore in their early days, with English lyrics and a mix of British and Italian influences, transitioned to progressive rock with the trio of Joe Vescovi (original member), Arvid "Wegg" Andersen (co-founder of the group), and Furio Chirico (future founder of ARTI & MESTIERI), who released "ATLANTIDE" in 1972.

This album, "ATLANTIDE 2025," features the sole surviving member of THE TRIP, who achieved international success in 1972. This album revisits the current state of the continent of Atlantis through the eyes of Furio Chirico's THE TRIP, formed 50 years later. While the new musical and philosophical ideology, the backdrop and atmosphere evoke a sense of constant déjà vu, the album embodies the structure of the original album, incorporating guitar parts, customizing the interpretation, and creating new arrangements for a more energetic impact. This is the true essence of THE TRIP: this is what ATLANTIDE 2025 represents. The album opens with an original song, "Ouverture 2025," written in homage to Joe Vescovi.

This album includes a mini documentary film, accessible via QR code and passcord, which contains approximately 17 minutes of previously unseen footage (with English subtitles) of the historic trio during the making of ATLANTIDE in 1972, with rare footage from the era (including recording scenes at the legendary Villa Rosso, real-life scenes, and interviews).

Lineup:

Furio Chirico (drums); Paolo “Silver” Silvestri (Hammond, piano, keyboards); Giuseppe “Gius” Lanari (vocals, bass); Marco Rostagno (guitars)
