Siamo estremamente orgogliosi di annunciare il nuovo album di Blaine L. Reininger dei Tuxedomoon, ora artista della Dark Companion. Ocean Planet è un'opera ambient-avangarde scritta, registrata e mixata dallo stesso Blaine ad Atene, in Grecia, ed è composta da 12 tracce, profondamente intense, atmosferiche e introspettive.

La bellissima copertina è tratta da un dipinto della moglie di Blaine, Maria Panourgia. Alcuni dei brani giacevano da tempo nel cassetto di Blaine quando il produttore Max Marchini scoprì che alcuni di essi, qui proposti, si incastravano perfettamente uno dopo l'altro, descrivendo un meraviglioso continuum intimistico.

Nacque Ocean Planet, il debutto di Blaine in Dark Companion. A proposito, è naturale perché il nome della nostra azienda è stato preso in prestito da una vecchia melodia dei Tuxedomoon. La maggior parte delle canzoni sono state realizzate per questo album, mentre alcune altre erano precedentemente destinate ad altri usi, come scrive Blaine nel libretto:

*"Shelley Hellas" usa un testo tratto da un poema epico di Percy Bysse Shelley chiamato "Hellas". È stato commissionato per un progetto presso il Centro Culturale Stavros Niarchos, Atene, intitolato "Una canzone per la Grecia".

†”Bones” utilizza citazioni da un testo di Samuel Beckett, commissionato per un progetto teatrale greco.

‡ "Ocean Planet" e "Incantations" sono stati usati in una produzione per il Teatro Nazionale Greco di "Troilus and Cressida" di Shakespeare diretta da mia moglie, Maria Panourgia.

§"Iris" è stato utilizzato in una produzione greca de "L'incomprensione" di Albert Camus diretta da Yannis Houvardas.

L'album è stato masterizzato da Alberto Callegari presso i leggendari Elfo Studios di Tavernago (PC).
