Keith Emerson’s (ELP) monumental works come to life in a solo piano setting.
“The Keith Emerson Piano Tribute” is a radical and unprecedented project: symphonic pieces such as *Tarkus*, *Trilogy*, and *Take a Pebble*—originally composed for a trio featuring Hammond organ and Moog synthesizer—are stripped of their orchestral trappings and restored to their purest, most virtuosic essence.
Conceived during the lockdown and recorded in 2026, the album is both a technical and emotional tribute that presents the classical and progressive power of Emerson’s music in a new, intimate light.
Giuseppe "Sep" Sarno (formerly of The Trip; collaborator with Giorgio "Fico" Piazza of PFM and Carmine Capasso) has crafted a work born of love and deep reverence.
Giuseppe Sarno was born in Avellino on January 24, 1981. After his father, Alfonso, introduced him to the piano, he continued his studies independently. He studied modern piano with Maestro Vittorio Nocenzi—keyboardist for the legendary band Banco del Mutuo Soccorso—and classical piano with Maestros Enzo and Lucio Colella. He obtained his certification in music theory and solfège from the “Cimarosa” Conservatory in Avellino.
In May 2025, he received an award from the international group EMERSONOLOGY in recognition of his efforts to promote the music of Keith Emerson.
