Born in 1998, the Italian rock band RanestRane (that means “Strange Frogs”) stands out in the Italian rock prog scene thanks to its live performances, named as “CineConcert”: the band composes and performs original lyrics and music, blending them with short excerpts from a movie, projected in the background. The original score is almost entirely replaced by the new soundtrack. The project is neither a merely live sonorization, nor a simple projection with a sync sound. The band aims to re-elaborate the art film, in order to lead audience to think that the movie has been written to accompany the music and not viceversa. Concept albums so conceived turn into real Rock Operas. The vocal parts featuring original lyrics are intertwined with fragments of the film dialogues, thereby enriching the script and serving as narrative backdrop to explore new viewpoints. RanestRane thus create a new approach to the way spectators experience the film screening. 2020 The new RanestRane project is : THE WALL - Il Cineconcerto Alan Parker's film is exactly what inspired the band - over 20 years ago - to embark on an original and multimedia journey into the contemporary rock scene. From November 2019 will start the first tranche of the tour that will touch some Italian cities, and then land across Europe in May 2020. in 2019 we celebrate the 40th anniversary of the publication of the Pink Floyd album "The Wall". It is an honor for the Italian Band to pay tribute to this masterpiece The Ranestranes' personal reinterpretation of the soundtrack of the movie and original music will be accompanied by a complete synchronization with the film, to create what is now the "brand" of the Ranestranes: the Cineconcerto, a unique show of its kind.
