After 30 years, finally the comeback of ESAGONO, a band that was born exactly 30 years ago as and offspring of Arti & Mestieri. With their first album 'Vicolo', ESAGONO inaugurated the production of an Italian indie label, called 'MU', run by musicians themselves.
ESAGONO's style, an original “jazz-rock” based on a sound reminiscing of "Arti & Mestieri", was influenced by a tendence to highlight the melody of their themes, in parallel with the solo moments, always developed in a setting of collective “multicoloured orchestral sound”.
"Due", the album title means "Two" in Italian and is caused by it being the second album from the band, and also because it is divided in two parts, a live and a studio part, with unpublished recordings from the '70s too.
The reprint edition of 'Vicolo', first album of ESAGONO, by Electromantic Music, has refreshed the public's interest in the band, that consequently got back together, including in its line up the 3 founding members, Marco Gallesi (original member of Arti & Mestieri), Marco Cimino (with Arti & Mestieri in 'Quinto Stato', and in the re-line up of 'Murales') and Giorgio Diaferia (founder of “Combo Jazz” also, re-printed in the same catalogue of Esagono), with the add of Diego Mascherpa (already a live guest of Arti & Mestieri and of the album from Paolo Ricca, “Batik” and Marco Gallesi, “Riff”, also published by Electromantic Music).
The band is currently working for their live tour and on the compositions for their next album which they are about to record.
The CD ESAGONO - "DUE", internationally distributed by MARACASH and in Italy by VENUS, will be released at the end of April 2007 by ELECTROMANTIC MUSIC for the catalogue TURIN JAZZ ROCK SCHOOL.
