Wir sind sehr stolz darauf, das neue Album von Blaine L. Reininger von Tuxedomoon anzukündigen, der jetzt ein Dark Companion-Künstler ist. Ocean Planet ist ein Ambient-Avangarde-Werk, geschrieben, aufgenommen und gemischt von Blaine selbst in Athen, Griechenland, und es besteht aus 12 Tracks, zutiefst intensiv, atmosphärisch und introspektiv.

Das schöne Cover stammt von einem Gemälde von Blaines Frau Maria Panourgia. Einige der Tracks lagen schon eine Weile in Blaines Schublade, als Produzent Max Marchini entdeckte, dass einige von ihnen, hier vorgeschlagen, perfekt hintereinander passten und ein wunderbares, intimes Kontinuum beschrieben.

Ocean Planet, Blaines Debüt bei Dark Companion, war geboren. Das ist übrigens ganz natürlich, denn unser Firmenname wurde von einer alten Tuxedomoon-Melodie entlehnt. Die meisten Songs sind für dieses Album gemacht, während einige andere formell für andere Zwecke gedacht waren, wie Blaine im Booklet schreibt:

*„Shelley Hellas“ verwendet einen Text aus einem epischen Gedicht von Percy Bysse Shelley namens „Hellas“. Es wurde für ein Projekt im Kulturzentrum Stavros Niarchos, Athen, mit dem Titel „Ein Lied für Griechenland“ in Auftrag gegeben.

†„Bones“ verwendet Zitate aus einem Text von Samuel Beckett, der für ein griechisches Theaterprojekt in Auftrag gegeben wurde.

‡ „Ocean Planet“ und „Incantations“ wurden in einer Inszenierung von Shakespeares „Troilus and Cressida“ für das Griechische Nationaltheater unter der Regie meiner Frau Maria Panourgia verwendet.

§"Iris" wurde in einer griechischen Produktion von Albert Camus' "Das Missverständnis" unter der Regie von Yannis Houvardas verwendet.

Das Album wurde von Alberto Callegari in den legendären Elfo Studios in Tavernago (PC) gemastert.
