PETROLIO's music has always had strong cinematic connotations. In 2020 he created a series of sound environments for the theatrical performance "L'Architettura della Disobbedienza", a project conceived by Francesco Fassone, presented in various festivals throughout Italy and with an intense performance at AstiTeatro21. This disc is the natural consequence of this experience, capable of translating these landscapes into constructed and meditated traces, enriched by the noises and perceptions gathered in the two evenings in which Petrolio participated live with his own music.

Petrolio is a solo project started in 2015 by Enrico Cerrato. In recent years the artist has released numerous singles, EPs and albums, touring all over Europe and sharing the stage with the likes of Lingua Ignota, Of the Wand & the Moon, Winterkälte, Uochi Toki, Bologna Violenta, Mai Mai Mai and Pankow to name but a few. In 2018 the Piedmontese artist already had a number of high-profile collaborations behind him with the likes of Jochen Arbeit, Aidan Baker, as well as many well-known artists of the Italian noise/industrial /experimental scene such as Fabrizio Modonese Palumbo, Sigillum S, Stefania Pedretti and Mai Mai Mai. He has also curated a number of compositions designed for contemporary theater plays such as Intramoenia by Angela Teodorowsky and a new interactive show, which will debut in 2021. The artist has also worked for cinema creating the soundtracks for The Tale Of The Idiot by Seth Morley and Film Fantasma by Gabriele Di Benedetto "Akab" produced by Carboluce. (Switch On)
