C3 is a trio whose music can be defined as a "trait d'union" between the most authentic jazz-rock, with energy, "electricity", "color, unpredictability" that distinguishes it , with the freedom ', the not planning and the' creation 'at the moment typical of the electric jazz of "Davisiano" style, of sure jazz-english rock that of the American "jam band". C3 is the acronym that brings together Beppe Crovella on keyboards, Furio Chirico on drums, Roberto Cassetta on bass. The first two are historical components of the Arti e Mestieri, the leading Italian prog in the 70s, while Cassette has been part of it for 12 years, and boasts collaborations with Carl Palmer, Andrea Braido, Ian Paice of Deep Purple.
Crovella is a fundamental musician on several levels in the history of Italian progressive music, and as well as a virtuoso pianist / hammondist, he is a composer, producer, recording studio owner and a record label.
Chirico, as well as in the Arti & Mestieri, has played in another historical formation of the Italian prog, The Trip by Joe Vescovi, in which Ritchie Blackmore also played.
The DVD testifies to a tour in Japan made in 2006 and the lineup of the concert is full of old and glorious tracks taken from the best albums of the Arti & Mestieri but also of other new tracks all totally re-arranged for trio. So even the most famous things seem totally new and pleasantly distorted.
