In the wake of the 80s psychedelic revival, that unearthed gems such as Robyn Hitchcock’s Soft Boys, Paul Roland, the
Black Sun Ensemble, REM, Opal etc. a young guitarist from Cambridge was noticed from music journalists for which
cult magazines as Bucketful Of Brains spent praises hardly given to others.
Mick Crossley under the moniker of Flyte Reaction debuted at the court of Bevis Frond in 1991 with a real ode to
psychedelia: “Songs In A Circle” acclaimed by critics was able to create an avid finicky eater following.
Deadly sequence: the following year “Strawberry Lip Salvation”, then in 1993 “Spectral Footwear ‘and in 1995 “Create
A Smile “. Unfortunately, the interest in psychedelia began to fade and the swansong came in 2001 with the excellent
“Sensilia”, returned to Woronzow by Nick Saloman aka Bevis Frond, which was published in the United States.
Mick never abandoned search, soaked in sixties’ sound, full of visions and a great guitar talent. Starts various partnerships,
among which we love to remember the incredible boost offered by Mick to the last albums of the comeback of
another huge British author, Paul Roland, with his magic Stratocaster.
Today Flyte Reaction returns to bright with what is probably his most mature fruit, certainly his best album.
Deeply submerged in psychedelic influences from Syd Barrett to XTC, sprinkled with Beatles’ Revolver and Sgt. Pepper
moth mullein and Joe Boyd’s productions from the UFO Club, paying deep respect to the father of many of the
undercurrents that have illuminated the British Isles with genius after the Fab Four, the beloved Daevid Allen of Gong
and Soft Machine: here you can feel the scents of rare spices, even though a more focused view on songwriting al lyrics
gained him a full 2 page artcgle and 5 star review in Italy’s best indepentent music magazine Rockerilla.
A cool album, listenable, fresh, clever and deep; a comeback that will mark an unforgettable chapter in the history of
English rock. A true masterpiece that is about to became a very sought after item, this first limited edition of 500 individually
numbered and hand bounded cardboads Cds.
