"E pensa che mi meraviglio ancora '', debut album by 'Il Porto di Venere', September 2021.
Newborn band that boasts in its ranks musicians of great caliber and experience of the music scene, including international: Maurizio Di Tollo (Finisterre and MascherA di Cera, just to name a couple of names), Elisa Minari (begins her career in the ranks of Nomadi) , Erik Montanari (Nada, Massimo Zamboni), Stefano Zeni (Finardi, Concato and Ruggiero, just to name a few ...), Marco Remondini (Franco Battiato, Giuni Russo and many others) and, 'last but not least', Cristiano Roversi ( Moongarden, Submarine Silence), one of the greatest Italian talents, a container of emotions, a 'Midas King of music'.
'We had courage', says in a pleasant conversation 'Mau': ... 'our record was born thanks to a fortuitous meeting, which later resulted in a deep friendship, of a group of' professional 'musicians with the goal (centered in full, ed) to produce a series of tracks 'in the old way' ... 'When you dedicate yourself to a work of this kind you have to be intellectually honest: I'm going there, do you (listener) want to follow me?' ... (cit., Di Tollo …) 'We imagined ourselves sitting at a table in a bar to tell each other about life and thus the title in the album was born. We concentrated on the sound of the bells of any provincial town and so we started the first notes. We were enchanted in front of a child (Demetrio Roversi, six years old) and with the joy of him we concluded ... 'E Ancora...' (extended version, together with track # 3 Dahlia, only on CD).
At first listening (personal comment) the pieces are timidly discovered and then overwhelm the listener through a myriad of other sensations (Miserere Sovietico, track n.4, just to give an example, is literally moving, overbearing, 12.12 'of pure power and poetry).
The texts in Italian and the music, entirely written by Cristiano Roversi and Maurizio Di Tollo, modulate and blend in a perfect balance, a sort of dance.
Praise to the arrangements, praise to the long solos, praise to the social denunciation made with royal elegance.
'I will no longer go to sleep without televoting', (Stop al televoto, track no. 2, 7.17 ")
