Preludio ad una nuova alba is the eight solo album by popular guitarist from Turin, Italy, Marcello Capra. Newly signed by Beppe Crovella's Electromantic label, released in the Turin Jazz Rock School editions, this album has an international flavour: Prague, Turkey, Russia, liquid thoughts and personal impressions are displayed as the expresison of an unique personality among acoustic guitar players, delighting our ears with its original use of plectrum on metal strings.
Capra - famous character of Italian Prog ever since Procession - has never been this expressive and deep, rythmic and meditative. His style 'flatpicking' has been often labelled "mediterranean", and in this album there is a blend of "colours, stylesi, influences of which Marcello, a six-string globetrotter, is soaked of. A new dawn (this is the meaning of the title) of blues, folk, new age touches, progressive and classic reminiscences and a solid rock base".
In Preludio ad una nuova alba Capra uses his acoustic Ovation Legend, but we also get whiffs of the electric past with the Gibson Les Paul Deluxe.
Laura Ennas, is an incredibly talented singing special guest in the closing track Aura.
