"Republikflucht ! Facing east ..." , the new album by Proteo. The band from Trieste, Italy, travels back in time to the years of the Cold War era, depicting in music a crucial turning point in history: the fall of the Berlin Wall and the many events and places related to it, which still have an impact on the present. From Runden Ecke to the escape attempt of Peter Fechter, from the fear of nuclear war to Ronad Reagan's speech: an attempt to flee in the contrary direction, in prog style.
After being awarded as best prog album of 2009 at MEI (by the association of independent Italian labels) for their debut album "Under a Red Polar Light," Proteo offer us another gem, where the structure of the songs is longer and more complex but always full of modern and contemporary music, suitable for every kind of listening. In fact, with "Republikflucht! Facing east ..." tha band show their shifting to the complex universe of neo-prog, without forgetting their sinfonic pop-rock roots.
