Gabriele Inglese and Paolo Nannetti (ex SITHONIA) began writing songs and playing guitar and piano together in Bologna in 1972 in middle school. They have never stopped since. Later, despite living in different cities, they remained friends and occasionally met to eat, drink and talk about football and music. For fifty years everyone made their living by playing, working and starting a family. There was no shortage of sporadic musical collaborations
especially at the end of the 80s: Gabriele participated as a flautist in the recording of the first album of Sithonia (the progressive group founded by Paolo) and Paolo played the accordion for some time in Filo Rosso (a folk collective based in Pistoia founded by Gabriele ).
Thus we arrive at the present day. In 2016, Paolo released with Lizard the album "Stranamente Sereno" which included "Corporal Milt", a popular structure song inspired by a beautiful story that really happened along the gothic line in the winter of 1944. Gabriele's idea was to record one of his versions and give it to Paolo in 2018 for his sixtieth birthday.
It took a few more years but around the new "Corporal Milt" the ten songs of "Lavorare per distrarsi" took shape, the CD just released with Lizard, between songwriting references and folk-prog inflections.
This work was carried out between Pistoia and Bologna during 2022 in a home studio context with the help of Giovanni Inglese (cello and viola), Oscar Inglese (sampler) and Giulio Soldati (trumpet). The graphics are by the Lalou studio in Pistoia.
To conclude, although neither Gabriele nor Paolo have ever made music their profession, attention and energy have never been lacking on their part in writing, listening and studying music.
