They had not been around for at least 10 years, but here the Neapolitan geckos return, after the debut album "Contradiction", with a work that photographs their original style in Italian mother tongue. In fact, while the first official work was in the language English, compared to the demo that saw the right choice of singing in the mother tongue, here with the second album, the band present itself in the most genuine guise.
For those who have not come across this monicker before, it must be said that the band, headed by the eclectic and brilliant Claudio Mirone (voice and guitars), composer and mind of the whole project, has its roots in Frank Zappa, Elio and Storie Tese, in the Italian-born prog and in fusion and hard jazz, without disdaining forays into funk. In short, there is something for all tastes. The lyrics are the most crazy you can imagine, as well as the titles.
The Italian language is stripped, the issues are sometimes clear, but just when you think you have understood something of what they want to say, here the doubt assails us. Umberto Eco would pale to read the lyrics of these songs whose metric is musically tightrope. "Primati" is a disc for brave, curious minds, bored by today's flatness. If you are among these categories of people, this is the disc for you .
