Traum was born, the new CD resulting from a three-year research and production work by the Parmesan Hidden Parts, a musical group formed in 2010 by some former members of Parts, an experimental post-rock / industrial band active in the 90s.

Compared to past experience, the group - made up of Gabriele Bertani (bass, guitar, keyboards), Giorgio Cantadori (drums, percussion, effects) and Adriano Engelbrecht (violin, vocals, keyboards) - maintains the approach to research and experimentation, as well as the typically rock executive strength and intensity, but strongly resizes the noise/industrial component of the previous experience.

A more performing and therefore less extreme music. The result is influenced by the many influences that make up the vast musical background of the members of the group (Avany rock, avant-garde New Wave of the 80s, Post-rock of the 90s) all interpreted with a personal style independent of specific patterns or tendencies . The construction of each single song takes place starting from improvisation sessions from which the structural parts of the rhythm section are elaborated. The composition phase begins with the analysis of the results of the various sessions which are selected and arranged in new horizontal structures. Subsequent instrumental, vocal and noise overlays complete the vertical aspect of the pieces. Thus a series of compositions with different, often unusual atmospheres are obtained, thanks to the use of unusual instruments in the rock world such as violin, flute and sax. The vocal parts are used properly as an expressive tool and not as a simple singing performance: this is the reason why it is possible to hear, in the various tracks, voices performed live together with others digitally processed. Another peculiarity of Hidden Parts is the frequent use of rhythmic structures based on odd tempos.
