“IL PIANETA DELLA MUSICA e il viaggio di IÒTU”, the new album by FRANCO MUSSIDA.
A work of 13 songs entirely composed by him, of which he also took care of the symbology and cover, and which will have a further evolution in the live dimension.
Franco Mussida is known for his particular guitar sound, but in this work he makes the public hear for the first time a sound never heard before. That of a new instrument with a unique tone, generated by a classical Baritone guitar that opens up to particular languages and expressiveness. A special guitar designed to combine the world of Soul-Blues with Pop and classic.
“IL PIANETA DELLA MUSICA e il viaggio di IÒTU” is a concept album that tells a journey into the inner world. The protagonist is a child, "IÒTU" whose name is an expression of two forces: that of an egoic, asocial I, which claims a space all to itself, and that of an altruistic You, which on the contrary, would like to give itself fully to the world. .
IÒTU, thanks to its sensitivity to sound, senses the magic, role and powers of the "Planet of Music" from an early age and thus ideally navigates that emotional sky with its small boat (Loke 4862) pushed by the wind of sound, tracing in its existential path routes that push him towards a more lucid emotional conscience. During the journey he remembers, reflects, observes the present and asks himself questions about the future.
With this project Franco Mussida creates and proposes a new musical style that can be defined: “UltraProg-Pop”. An essentially sound style, which is based on the way in which the artist approaches "sound matter", on the absence of violence, on the strong relationship with spatiality and silence. A style that proposes a limited use of machines in the creative and recording processes, and focuses on the high quality of the sound sources. The lyrics, whose writing is often frank and direct, are sung, recited, declaimed, putting this work out of the world of conventional song.
The project is accompanied by "a sound quality label": an information tool for listeners, which emphasizes the characteristics of the recordings, specifying the different qualities of the sound sources present in the musical streams.
